Boycott The 300
Don’t take up the Leases
Morale is Low, Earnings are low and drivers need to take a stand.
There are too many cabs in Perth as it is. The work is sporadic and ranks crowded.
While industrial action is being considered try political action first.
First step is to e-mail the minister - Troy Buswell
Then copy and paste that email to the opposition spokesperson – Ken Travers ken.travers@mp.wa.gov.au
Then your local MP found at - http://www.parliament.wa.gov.au/index.htm
Tell them of your personal circumstances, your family life depravations, your low income and poor working conditions. Explain why you think there are too many cabs already.
Tell them that you are a citizen and that you vote and you talk to many people each day who also vote.
Refer to my blog for more information and ideas – http://perthcabcrap.blogspot.com/
Thats a good idea, but what youre saying is virtually imposible. There are hundreds of drivers applying for the new plates. The other day while I was cashing in my eftpos dockets at live taxi epay there was a petition on the wall with signatures from drivers against the release of the new plates, I signed it of course. There were 3 men in the office signing up for the new eftpos machines who refused to sign, thats when I realised that this will go ahead as the industry is not united. For every person that doesnt want this to happen (ALL THE PLATE OWNERS) there is another one that sees this as a fantastic opportunity to have there own plate. Where did you get your information stating that industrial action is being considered??. I would definitely be taking part in that if it were to happen.
ReplyDeleteJust been furfing the net and stumbled on this: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/breaking/9200633/taxi-inspectors-on-weekend-beat/ Read the bit where it says The Department of Transport will recruit new officers to focus on monitoring taxis on the streets of Perth, as opposed to devoting a significant amount of their working time to other duties such as fraud and fare investigations, court appearances and camera downloads. WOOW I cant believe what im reading. So basically that means fare evasion, criminal damage, threatening behaviour and what ever else means nothing to the minister.
